Meet Our Newest Clinician Leading Our NJ Facility - Teresa Zawislak 1Teresa Zawislak is our latest addition to the My Pet’s Brace family as the lead clinician at our newest location in Toms River, New Jersey. She comes to us with thirty years of experience as a veterinary technician.

Teresa said, “I am excited to use my experience as a veterinary technician and now as a My Pet’s Brace clinician to help more pets live active, quality lives with a custom brace. Our new facility will be the first and currently only pet bracing facility in the state. I look forward to being a local resource to help veterinarians and pet families provide the best care and options to their four-legged family members.”

Teresa started seeing patients this spring after extensive training at our main office in Morgantown, PA. Her phones and schedule have been busy from the onset. She takes the casts of the dogs’ legs, fits the braces and provides all follow-up care at her location in Toms River.

Following 9/11, she became part of a first responders’ veterinary medical team who helped care for the Secret Services’ working dogs during the National Democratic Convention held in New York City.

Teresa grew up as a “military brat,” traveling both the USA and the world as her dad transferred from base to base. Born in Montana, she lived in Washington state and Arizona, as well as Holland and England. When her dad finally retired, her family settled in New Jersey where she brought along her very proper British accent; although you would never know it now as she proudly sounds like a born and bred Jersey girl.

Teresa enjoys traveling with her husband, John, who is an avid bagpiper. She donates much of her time to charity events sponsored by his bagpipe club. She has one son, one granddaughter, and one dog –Tilbi, a chihuahua mix. Look for Teresa at the Ocean County Irish Festival on Sept 9, 2022, where she will be working the My Pet’s Brace booth.

Please join us in welcoming Teresa to our pack and wishing her the very best in her new endeavor!
