DOG KNEE BRACES FOR BACK LEGS 1

Knee Braces for Dogs

ACL/CCL tears are the most common orthopedic injuries in dogs. A hind leg brace for your dog from My Pet’s Brace helps your pet live a happier life and get back to playtime after an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)—called the cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) in dogs—injury.

Custom dog knee braces are a conservative management solution for dogs with full or partial CCL injuries. Most families are choosing bracing due to the senior age or health condition of their dog or the desire to avoid invasive and expensive surgery.

Design and Materials

Braces are designed with your dog in mind. Our team uses the highest-quality materials and every custom brace is waterproof.

1
Plastic superstructure: Medical-grade plastic provides the frame for the brace.
2
Foam padding: The soft, antibacterial foam lining and the grooved Achilles tendon pad ensure your pet is comfortable wearing the brace all day long.
3
Durable joints and screws: Tough joints made for dogs and stainless steel screws withstand wear and tear.
4
Functional fit: A suspension sleeve and Velcro straps ensure the brace will stay in place.

CUSTOM BACK LEG KNEE BRACES FOR DOGS

Our custom-made knee braces are the most comfortable and effective braces for dogs with CCL injuries. The process starts with a cast of your dog’s leg so that we can provide the control necessary for the injury and account for every length and contour.

In our experience, soft, off-the-shelf or standard-sized braces made with thick fabric do not provide the necessary support for this injury. After all, how would a handful of sizes fit over 200 breeds of dogs?

ACL/CCL SUPPORT FOR TWO KNEES

If your dog injures both knees, both legs can be braced. There is no complicated harness system that connects the two canine CCL braces. Studies have shown that up to 60% of dogs that tear one ACL/CCL will injure their other legs. Yikes! According to our patient-reported outcomes survey in 2020, only 18% of dogs that used a knee brace from us injured the opposite leg. Our dog knee braces for torn ACLs/CCLs support the injured leg, which reduces the weight your dog off-loads onto their good rear leg.[1]

Conditions and Uses for Dog Knee Braces

A dog leg brace for ACL/CCL injury can also support the following conditions:

[1] My Pet’s Brace emailed a Knee Brace Follow Up Survey in January 2020 to pet owners whose dog received a knee brace for an ACL/CCL injury between 2015-2018. Out of 687 survey responses, 123 or 17.9% of owners reported their dog sustained an ACL/CCL injury on the opposite leg after receiving a knee brace for an ACL/CCL injury on the initially injured leg.
