Vets & Rehab Professionals
How We Can Help
Two Options for Service
Our Simple Process
At My Pet's Brace we design and build custom, state-of-the-art carpal, elbow, hock and stifle braces, prosthetic legs and other orthotic devices for dogs and other animals. Our stifle or knee brace for dogs with ACL/CCL tears is the most common type of brace we design and fabricate.
Orthotic and prosthetic devices are used to correct or accommodate an affected limb or other body part following trauma or surgical intervention. They aid in the rehabilitation of the animal by providing interim or permanent support. Braces are also used in non-surgical applications for different etiologies such as contracture and fracture management, arthritis or severe sprains.
We deliver our services in a compassionate and professional manner and we promise that working with us will be a hassle-free, efficient and enjoyable experience. For custom orthotic and prosthetic devices we require a vet's order or referral before we begin because we firmly believe that the best outcome for our patients starts with a veterinarian's examination and diagnosis.
Our practice model is based on a team effort among the veterinarian, animal rehabilitation professional, pet's family and our practitioners. To facilitate the effective communications required for successful collaborations, the My Pet's Brace practitioners will be available during each step of the process.
We will support the team and the patient for as long as we are needed. This means that the veterinarian, rehab professional or client can contact us at any time at (610) 286-0018 or through Ask A Question and a My Pet's Brace practitioner will answer questions, offer suggestions and quickly resolve any issues.
Our devices are custom-made uniquely for each patient and fit comfortably, are durable and help increase function and activity levels. The following are some of the ways in which veterinarians have used leg braces, orthotic devices and prosthetics in their practices.
Trauma, Disease and Congenital Anomaly...Braces and prosthetics are used in non-surgical applications for different etiologies such as contracture and fracture management, arthritis or severe sprains and birth defects.
Pre-Surgical...Many veterinarians find that bracing a weakened limb pre-surgically is a viable option for those patients that are not ready for surgery or have medical issues that will postpone surgery.
Post-Surgical...My Pet's Brace provides an adjunct to surgical interventions by providing additional support to the affected leg or the spine, promoting quicker healing especially in very active animals. We use lightweight, durable materials in all of our devices to maximize this benefit.
Non-Surgical Candidates...Some pets are not candidates for surgery due to age, frail health or concurrent medical issues. In many situations My Pet's Brace offers an effective treatment option for the care of these patients.
Client Funding...If a client has funding concerns and a leg brace, prosthesis or other orthopedic device is an appropriate clinical alternative, we can provide a solution that is often less expensive than surgery and will both benefit the patient and reassure the pet's family that their pet can regain higher activity and functional levels.
