How We Can Help
Two Options for Service
Our Simple Process
At My Pet's Brace we design and build custom, state-of-the-art carpal, elbow, stifle and hock braces, prosthetic legs and other orthotic devices for dogs and other animals.
Our leg braces for dogs have applications in both veterinary sports medicine and animal rehabilitation. They can aid in pain management, recovery from surgery, and in the rehabilitation of conditions such as soft tissue injuries, nerve disorders and degenerative joint disease. Braces also have application in conditioning and weight management when increased mobility is required.
We deliver our services in a compassionate and professional manner and we promise that working with us will be a no-hassle, efficient and enjoyable experience. For custom orthotic and prosthetic devices, we require a vet's order or referral before we begin because we firmly believe that the best outcome for our patients starts with a veterinarian's examination and diagnosis.
Our practice model is based on a team effort among the veterinarian, animal rehabilitation professional, pet's family and our practitioners. To facilitate the effective communications required for successful collaborations, the My Pet's Brace practitioners will be available during each step of the process.
We will support the team and the patient for as long as we are needed. This means that the veterinarian, rehab professional or client can contact us at any time at (610) 286-0018 or through Ask A Question and a My Pet's Brace practitioner will answer questions, offer suggestions and quickly resolve any issues.
Our dog braces are custom-made uniquely for each patient and fit comfortably, are durable and help increase function and activity levels. The following are some of the ways in which rehab professionals have used leg braces, orthotic devices and prosthetics in their practices.
Soft Tissue...Orthopedic braces can be used for interim or permanent support allowing the patient to achieve strength, and endurance goals more quickly. Our braces can be designed to control range of motion, restrict or assist flexion, extension, abduction or adduction. They can also be used to reduce contractures or maintain the gains achieved in therapy.
Post-Surgical...My Pet's Brace devices provide additional support to the affected leg or the spine, promoting faster healing and allowing quicker initiation of therapeutic exercise. We use lightweight, durable materials in all of our devices to maximize this benefit.
Pain Management...A leg brace provides support for an injured limb or degenerative joint and can help reduce swelling and fatigue resulting in decreased pain. Bracing is a great adjunct to therapeutic pain-management modalities.
Immobilization and Protection...Our orthopedic braces can be designed to provide resistance to flexion or extension by immobilizing the affected joint. An orthopedic brace also provides some degree of protection against impacts.
Client Funding...If a client has funding concerns and a leg brace, prosthesis or other orthopedic device is an appropriate clinical alternative, we can provide a solution that is often less expensive than surgery and will both benefit the patient and reassure the pet's family that their pet can regain higher activity and functional levels.
